Abdul Karim Sankoh alias ‘Gift’ was born on 1st January 1977 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He attended the Government Municipal Secondary School in Freetown, where he attained high school education. Gift is a Documentary Officer at a community-based organization known as Health Alert. Gift aim to become a movie director at international level. In this regard, Gift has directed a movie in 2013 titled, ‘Chief Dovo II’, which is a traditional film that depicts a family struggle for ascendancy to the chieftaincy throne. Gift believes in truth/honesty and hard work. His biggest achievement so far was his participation as a member of a team that did the first video recording or documentary showing the impacts of the ebola disease on its victims. Outside work, Gift engage in photography and creative writing. He is also the head of MaM-SL drama group.

Returned migrants play a central role as Volunteers in the development, planning and implementation of the Migrants as Messengers campaign.

Through their stories, the learnings from their migratory experiences and their creativity, MaM Volunteers are the principal authors and actors of the campaign. From 2019-2022, a community of more than 300 volunteers across 7 countries will develop and grow. This community will also have access to diversified training and capacity-building opportunities and be invited to regular activities to support the development of an organic and sustainable community. Female engagement plays an important role within the MaM Volunteer community as they will take the lead in shaping women-to-women dialogue sessions and engaging female audiences more generally.
